Dr. Aysel Sultan
Short biography
Dr Aysel Sultan is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute for Drug Research of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Sultan holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baku State University, a Master’s in Social Work from Vytautas Magnus University, and a PhD in Educational Sciences from Goethe University Frankfurt. Between April and December 2020, she held a postdoctoral research fellowship funded by the Minerva Foundation at the Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Aging of the University of Haifa.
Her main research focuses on drug use and recovery among various age cohorts, international drug policy, as well as, health and social policy. She works within the frames of STS, 'new' materialism, and posthuman theory across educational sciences and sociology. Dr. Sultan is also co-editor of the peer-reviewed, international scientific journal "Drugs and Alcohol Today" (Emerald) and an editorial board member of “Childhood Vulnerability” Journal (Springer).
