WirtschaftsWoche University Ranking: Frankfurt UAS in the top 10 three times again

Graduates in business administration, computer science and industrial engineering are particularly sought after by HR managers.

Graduates of Frankfurt UAS have good career prospects and are in demand among HR managers. This is once again shown by the current university ranking of the magazine WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo) for the year 2024. [1]

Frankfurt UAS is among the top 10 universities of applied sciences (HAW) with three degree programs - Business Administration, Computer Science and Industrial Engineering. As in previous years, the university was thus able to maintain its position as one of Germany's top UAS.

Good prospects for a successful career start

"Our good rankings in the WirtschaftsWoche university ranking prove once again that we are successfully providing our students with the specialist expertise and future skills they need to tackle real challenges in business and society," says a delighted Prof. Dr. Kai-Oliver Schocke, President of Frankfurt UAS. "This recognition is a clear indicator of the high quality of our Business Administration, Computer Science and Industrial Engineering degree programs. Our graduates thus have excellent prospects for a successful career start."

The ranking is based on the results of a survey of 483 companies from various sectors. The HR managers of these companies were asked which universities and universities of applied sciences they prefer to recruit their employees from. The results are listed separately for universities and UAS/universities of applied sciences. 11.8 percent of HR managers named Frankfurt UAS as the UAS from which they particularly like to recruit employees with a degree in business administration. This puts it in fourth place in the current ranking for this degree course. Frankfurt UAS also took fourth place with its industrial engineering course (12.6 percent). It took 7th place in the ranking for Computer Science (11.9 percent).

The survey was embedded in the article „Wenn KI alles weiß: Was lohnt sich noch zu lernen – und an welchen Hochschulen?“ ("When AI knows everything: What is still worth learning - and at which universities?"), for which the magazine spoke at length with professors and students from the Department of Business and Law at Frankfurt UAS about modern teaching methods and the importance of soft skills, specialist knowledge and judgment in the age of AI and ChatGPT in particular.

The data basis of the survey

The WirtschaftsWoche university ranking is an annual evaluation of the best universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany. It is based on a survey of companies and HR managers on their experiences with graduates from various universities. The HR managers surveyed are spread across all sectors, with the majority working in healthcare, financial services, retail and banking. Around 25 percent work in companies with more than 1,000 employees, while the majority - around 30 percent - work in companies with 100 to 500 employees. The survey was conducted by the employer branding consultancy Universum.
