The School of Personal Development and Education (ScoPE) cordially invites all students and interested university staff to an afternoon of mindfulness and meditation on November 10, 2023! Four consecutive meditation slots will explore the following topics together. Please note: The workshops will be hold in German.
13.00-13.45: Mindfulness and meditation: introduction to the practice of meditation.
Meditation and mindfulness are growing in popularity, and for good reason. But what exactly does meditation look like and what should you keep in mind?
This slot will teach you the basics of mindfulness and meditation. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in a guided mindfulness exercise to gain experience and reflect on your impressions afterwards.
14.00-14.45: Breath and stress reduction: finding inner peace
Hectic, stress and the increasing pressure of rising demands are often omnipresent in everyday university life. But what can help you manage this rising stress?
In this slot, you will learn about the deeper meaning of breathing. You will learn how breathing is closely linked to mindfulness and how, through a practical breathing exercise, you can learn to find inner peace as stress and tension fall away from you.
15.00-15.45: Mindfulness and Self-Reflection: The Art of Self-Knowledge
Conscious access to yourself and your own emotions paves the way to a healthier and more authentic life. But how can you deepen this access to yourself?
In this slot, the focus is on specifically looking at the concept of self-reflection and its importance for personal development. This contemplation is enhanced by the inclusion of mindfulness exercises, allowing for deeper self-knowledge.
16.00-16:45: Mindful Communication: The Bridge to Harmonious Relationships
Communication is the foundation of interpersonal relationships. However, it can also bring challenges such as misunderstandings. How can the quality of communication be improved?
In this slot, you will be introduced to the basics of mindful communication and deepened through a practical exercise. The goal is to strengthen interpersonal relationships through mindful speaking and listening and to contribute to more openness as well as mutual understanding.
Participation is free of charge. Prior registration is not required. Each slot is self-contained - you are welcome to choose one or more topics.
