Digital participation in Old Age (DiTA)

Neighborhood-based supply in Frankfurt am Main

The digitalization of society opens up new opportunities for an aging society. The number of older people using digital devices and applications is continually increasing. But the switch from analog to digital can also pose challenges for old people in their everyday lives. There is still a large group of seniors who are offline due to their gender, income or educational qualifications.

Participation in old age
In her research project “Digital Participation in Old Age – Neighborhood-Near Care in Frankfurt am Main” (DiTA), Rafaela Werny wants to introduce old people to the digital world and enable them to deal with it confidently. By breaking down hurdles and offering digital participation opportunities, she plans to help enable them to participate digitally and in society. Her goal is to offer seniors in Frankfurt low-threshold and quick help with digital questions and problems. To this end, in collaboration with providers of work for the elderly and the Aging Control Center of the Frankfurt Youth and Social Welfare Office, it will record, network and expand the digital offerings for old people in Frankfurt.
