Participation and democracy building are the basic principles of pedagogical practice in open child and youth work. However, how these principles are applied varies from institution to institution. In his dissertation, Christoph Bochentin would like to examine what the concrete application looks like and to what extent the professional actions of pedagogical specialists are influenced by their biographical experiences. In addition, he takes a look at how professionalism in open child and youth work arises and is understood in this context.
