Requirements for an UAS professorship

Necessary

  • Doctorate
  • 5 years of work experience, at least 3 of which outside of the UAS (scope of work: at least 50 percent)
  • Teaching experience (teaching assignments, didactic further training)

Appointment procedure

  1. Call for applications

  3. Preselection by appointment committee
  4. Trial course & selection interview
  5. Submission of a teaching & research concept, if applicable
  6. Ranking list & final selection
  7. Offer of appointment & appointment negotiation
  8. Appointment and, if applicable, tenure

Average duration of an appointment procedure at the Frankfurt UAS: 13 to 14 months

Monthly W2 salary (Hesse)

The next pay level is reached after five years.

  • Pay level 1: 6.320,46 €
  • Pay level 2: 6.558,47 €
  • Pay level 3: 6.796,50 €
  • Pay level 4: 7.034,51 €
  • Pay level 5: 7.272,52 €

Supplements

  • Monthly family supplement: 140,91 €
  • Annual special payment: 5 percent of respective salary

Variable supplements

  1. Per performance level: 209,97 €
