The individual’s choice of transportation modes depends on current developments, the individual life phase and situation, as well as trends within one’s own generation (so-called “cohort”). The project objective is to identify and quantify these cohort effects in transport mode choice, travel behavior (number of trips, length of trips) and availability of means of transport (car, driving license, car sharing membership, bicycle, public transport).
Innovative quantitative methods are used in the course of the project. The results are validated by qualitative methods (focus group with citizen participation).
