ELLE (Center for Teaching and Learning) is a sub-Project of SKILL (Strategic Competence Platform - Innovative Learning and Teaching) and acts as a service unit for staff and students. Its objectives include the introduction of support services in the digitalization of teaching and research projects.
The project is funded by the Foundation for Innovation in University Teaching (only available in German) as part of the "Strengthening university teaching through digitalization" funding measure.
Our services
The following services are currently offered university-wide:
- Provision of virtual desktops or software (e.g. MySQL Workbench, Microsoft Office, SAP GUI)
- Programming environment (e.g. Python)
- Video streaming with content protection/DRM (e.g. for the child protection day)
- Cloud services for projects (e.g. AI machine learning, Power BI, server)
- Provision of hardware and accessories (e.g. mixed-reality glasses, video conferencing systems, projectors, conference phones)
- Consultation hours via Microsoft Teams
Borrow our devices
The following devices can currently be borrowed for teaching and research at the Frankfurt UAS:
- Microsoft HoloLens (mixed-reality glasses, developer edition)
- Logitech Group video-conferencing system
- Epson Projector (EB-2250U)
- Avaya conference phone (B199)
- Microsoft Surface Hub 2S
The following accessories are also available:
- Portable screen for Projector
- Portable green screen
- Logitech presenter
- Cable reel, extension cables and power strips
- Waterproof cases

Feedback about our services
Thanks to the “ELLE” center (Center for Teaching and Learning), it has been possible for me and our research group (research group for building materials science) to create a virtual, location-independent environment in which numerous creative ideas could be developed in recent months. This has saved time for lecturers and scientists and allowed us to push ahead with our teaching projects. I would like to thank all team members for their excellent cooperation.
