There are many good reasons for your application

Our university has a lot to offer: tasks with added social value, professional development opportunities and professional challenges. With us, you will find a workplace you can rely on.

Flexible working hours help you to achieve a good work-life balance. If your job profile allows it, you can work with us between 06:00 am and 09:00 pm. You can also save overtime in a long-term work account and take it off at a time of your choice.

With us, you can work up to 60 percent of your working hours remotely or from home. With a 5-day week, this is up to 3 days a week (except for teaching commitments or office hours).

In addition to the regular 30 vacation days, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and your birthday are work-free - provided they fall on a working day.

Back in 2004, we were the first university in Hesse to be awarded the “family-friendly university audit” certificate. Since then, we have continued to develop family-friendliness at our university in order to fulfill the legal mandate to “reconcile family life with studies, academic qualifications or career” (§3(4) HessHG).

In concrete terms, the compatibility of family and career is reflected in our offers, such as a parent-child room, 1 hour of care time per month, emergency childcare, vacation care, the child allowance of the state of Hesse, as well as a wide range of information on the subject of care.

  • Hesse state ticket: With the state ticket, employees of the state of Hesse travel free of charge on local public transport throughout the state and in several neighboring areas.
  • Company pension scheme: Employees are entitled to an additional retirement and surviving dependants' pension from the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL) with personal contribution in accordance with the Collective Agreement on Retirement Pensions (ATV) as amended. A transfer from previous employment in the public sector is possible on application.
  • Capital-forming benefits: In the case of full-time employment, the capital-forming benefit amounts to EUR 6.65 for each full calendar month (in accordance with the Capital Formation Act).
