ANABIN-database
First check whether your foreign university degree is listed in the ANABIN database as “equivalent” to a German degree and was awarded by a recognized university. If this is the case, no separate certificate assessment is required. In this case, please enclose an excerpt from the ANABIN database with your application.
Certificate evaluation by the ZAB
If your degree is not listed in the ANABIN database or no equivalence is shown there, you will need a certificate assessment from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). This certificate confirms the equivalence with a German degree and should be enclosed with your application. Further information can be found at: www.zab.kmk.org/en/statement-comparability
