Our action week: sustainability in all its facets
In the first week of July, the topic of sustainability took centre stage at our university. We presented many sustainable projects and campaigns – both on campus and at our stand in the UEFA fan zone on the Main – and highlighted many different facets of sustainability.
We kicked things off with the presentation and live launch of our interactive and accessible sustainability dashboard and the opening of the ‘ToleranzRäume’ exhibition. There was also a poster exhibition on sustainable student model projects. The second day focussed on the topic of ‘sustainable health’, including a mindfulness parkour. On Wednesday, we celebrated our title renewal as a ‘Fairtrade University’ with a delicious, free fair breakfast for all university members. A huge augmented reality clothing mountain, which focussed on the topic of ‘fast fashion’, could be admired on campus.
In the fan zone on the Main, there was an upcycling workshop, an inclusive football tournament, a carbon footprint parkour and much, much more. The highlight at the end of the action week: our campus festival with public viewing and a concert by the singer LIN.
