U!REKA Change Agents 2025: Climate neutral and smart cities – innovate for sustainability!

Solve transformative challenges together with other students in a European and interdisciplinary team. Apply by 15.01.2025 for this Blended Intensive Program (BIP) with four online units and one attendance week in Helsinki

Sustainability and digitalization are currently two of the most important global issues. However, addressing individual aspects and the associated transformation of our society is often systemic and requires collaboration between individuals and groups from many different sectors with different perspectives, ideas and interests. So how can we implement the two topics in different European cities, taking into account socio-cultural, health, inclusion and climate-related as well as economic dimensions?

The U!REKA Change Agents program “Climate neutral and smart cities - innovate for sustainability!”, which will take place from April 22 to June 2, 2025 in four online units (on April 22, May 6, May 12, June 2) and one week in Helsinki (May 19 to 23, 2025), will address these and other questions.

Together, the participating students from seven European universities work on current issues and real-world problems using design thinking and other creative learning methods and develop interdisciplinary solutions. In doing so, they acquire important skills for working together in interdisciplinary, intercultural and international teams. Further details can be found in this flyer and in this video of the first session in Amsterdam

Interested students who would like to participate in the program can apply on this page by 15 January 2025 at the latest.

Please note: For funding reasons, only Bachelor students who have not yet completed a General Studies module (!SG) at the time of the program can receive financial support. If you have already completed the interdisciplinary General Studies module at the start of the program or would like to participate as a Master's student, you must cover your own travel and accommodation costs for the week of attendance in Helsinki. Participation in the Change Agents Program is free of charge.
