Presentation of the ‘Sustain Award’ for research and teaching

A research project that tests a simulation environment for mobility behaviour in cities and takes into account the heterogeneity of people convinced the jury of the Sustain Award: ASIMOW (‘Agent-based simulation models for mobility patterns in the Rhine-Main area to evaluate the welfare effects of transport measures’) aims to use simulations to identify opportunities for improving transport in the Rhine-Main area and thus contribute to more sustainable action. The innovative aspect here is that the winners and losers of individual (planned) transport measures can be identified. The project is being carried out by Prof. Dr Marco Sunder, Prof. Dr Tobias Hagen and Amir Babaei, research assistant, and is based at the Research Lab for Urban Transport (ReLUT) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS).

With the Sustain Award, which will be presented for the first time in 2024, the Frankfurt Foundation for Research and Education, together with its sponsor Procter & Gamble, aims to support Frankfurt UAS in its efforts to embed sustainability in research and teaching. The prize money of 4,000 euros will be used to further develop the award-winning research project.
