On November 9, Aviation Day 2018 brought together more than 200 aviation experts and students to discuss the topic of digitalization and innovation in aviation.
Under the motto "Sharing experiences, conveying knowledge, discussing the future," long-standing experts and alumni of the Aviation Management program reported on future-oriented innovations and digital solutions for the aviation of tomorrow. A versatile program was offered. Experts from Lufthansa and Thomas Cook presented their ideas on the future of digital sales and distribution; Boeing's Digital Aviation & Analytics Lab in Neu-Isenburg discussed the current status of research on digital flight operations; and representatives from different airports addressed the revolution of airport shopping, the simulation of freight transports, and numerous other digitalization and innovation projects. In the final panel discussion, high-ranking managers of DFS German Deutsche Flugsicherung, Airport Munich, Lufthansa, and Materna discussed the vision of a seamless travel experience. The event was organized by students of the dual program in Aviation Management, under the guidance of Alexander Wehnert (5th Semester) and Simon Wetzig (alumnus).
