DAAD Prize

The Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences awards the DAAD Prize annually to a student with good academic achievements and social or cultural engagement outside the field of study. The prize money is a sum of 1,000€ that is provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).

Who can be nominated for the DAAD Prize?

International students, that acquired their higher education or Master's entrance qualifications outside of Germany, can nominate themselves by filling the application form below and sending it via email to the International Office.

Application deadlines: 1st of April till 25th of July

If the deadline ends on a weekend or holiday, it will be extended to the following working day.

The following requirements must be fulfilled:

  • You are at least in your 4th Semester (Bachelor) respectively on your 3rd Semester (Master) at the Frankfurt UAS and have not yet disenrolled
  • You are an international student, i.e. you must have acquired your higher education or Master's entrance qualification directly abroad or at a Studienkolleg
  • Your GPA (Grade Point Average) from all your previous study or exam results is 2.5 or you have written a thesis graded 1.0
  • You are, with proof, intensively involved in social or intercultural issues within or outside the university (for example: in AStA, student council, cultural associations, student communities, etc.)

  • DAAD Prize application form
  • Reason for applying (Motivational Letter)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Current overview of all academic accomplishments (official version)
  • Letter of recommendation from a university teacher
  • Evidence of your social or intercultural commitment
  • A current certificate of enrollment
