Master studies

If you have obtained your undergraduate degree abroad and would like to complete your Master's degree at Frankfurt UAS, you will find all the information you need to apply here. In addition, you can find information about the requirements and, if applicable, further documents to be submitted on the respective study program pages.

Even if you have already completed a Master's degree in Germany, the application must be submitted via uni-assist, since the undergraduate degree is used as the basis for a Master's degree program.

The application and enrollment for cooperative degree programs takes place at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.

In which languages can I study a Master's degree program?

At Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, in addition to Master's degree programs offered in German, there are also programs offered entirely in English.

In the degree programs that you can find under “German taught Master's degree programs”, lectures are held in German and partly in English. It is not possible to study in either German or English.

For English taught Master's degree programs, the respective English language proficiency must be proven at the time of application.

1) Nursing education, vocational education with a focus on nursing and/or health professions, medical education, or comparable degree program¹

In case of an undergraduate degree according to 1):

  • Completed vocational training in a nursing profession or a patient-centered health care profession
  • Professional practical experience in the respective nursing profession or health care profession with a temporal scope of at least one year with an average weekly working time of at least half a full-time equivalent

In case of an undergraduate degree according to 2):

  • Professional degree with at least one year of work experience
  • Sufficient pedagogical and didactically competences
 

¹The undergraduate degree must correspond to a German university degree with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (3 years)

³If the university degree corresponds to a German university degree with a standard period of study of less than 7 semesters, admission may be subject to the condition that proof of successful completion of modules worth up to 30 ECTS points (credit points) must be provided by the time of admission to the Master's thesis.

Further information

If you are or have been enrolled in a university in Germany, you will need to submit the following documents in addition to those listed on the previous page when applying through uni-assist:

  • Proof of previous studies in Germany: data sheet on all periods of enrollment at universities in Germany with details and type of degree program, diploma, or Bachelor's degree, university semesters, subject semesters, vacation semesters
  • Same-named / related course of study: current overview of all academic achievements with passed, registered and failed examinations. If you have lost the examination entitlement in a module, you must additionally submit confirmation of the lost examination entitlement.
  • Current certificate of study or certificate of ex-matriculation

Only after enrollment can you apply for recognition of previous achieved credits at the responsible examination office. General information on credit transfer can be found on the website AN! Recognition at universities of the MODUS project of the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz, HRK).
