In the center of intelligent system is the habitat of human beings.  Here are sensors and actuators distributed and connected.  These systems shall be communicating and interacting with individuals in a supporting manner.  This means that they must be sufficiently 'smart', d.h. and 'intelligent'.

In order to avoid dangers, these systems must be established as security-critical systems, often as real-time systems.

Computer Science with specialization in 'Intelligent systems'

You will acquire fundamental knowledge and fundamental skills during the course of studies:

  • in engineering of robust systems,
  • in the field of intelligent sensors and actuators,
  • in the field of integration of speech recognition, speech synthesis, and image recognition,
  • in the design of adaptive intelligent systems for the human-machin interaction,
  • in interdisciplinary project work.

Prospects

The course of study qualifies the graduates depending on their chosen focus to work in a number of fields in the area of analysis and design of user-friendly omnipresent adaptable technical systems (modern distributed sensory and actuator technology, secure data communication, speech and image recognition, speech synthesis, dialog systems).

Potential fields of work are:

  • freelance planning and consulting tasks,
  • tasks in the housing industry of free, public or private economic carriers,
  • tasks in the political bodies or in social welfare authorities (e.g. municipalities or charities),
  • tasks in healthcare and social welfare institutions,
  • tasks in science and research.

Interdisciplinary projects

The interdisciplinary projects are an invitation for the creative search for new and interesting solution approaches based on current research results and methods.

Due to the collaboration with students from other disciplines, you will expand your professional horizon and improve your social competencies.

Expert forums and excursions

Excursions are offered on a regular basis in order to enhance the semester-related foci. As an addition, expert forums are offered including external professionals from the economy and practice as a support.
