About your studies

  • The study program can be taken up in the winter or summer semester.
  • In their first two semesters, students acquire advanced knowledge in inter-connection, control and simulation of complex mechatronic systems and acquire solution skills for advanced problems in the field of mechanical engineering – for example in vehicle dynamics, the avoidance of unwanted emissions and vibrations or the design of alternative drives. They also gain an insight into two relevant electrical engineering topics, electromobility and power electronics.
  • As part of their scientific project, students work intensively on the research focus of automotive engineering in the summer semester.
  • The third semester is dedicated to the master's thesis, which can be written in cooperation with an industrial partner or in the university's research environment.

You're uncertain whether this master's program is right for you? Our program director Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Holger Marschner will be happy to advise you – by phone, e-mail or in a videoconference. Simply arrange a personal meeting via e-mail.

With your master's degree in Mechatronics and Automotive Engineering, you will qualify for challenging jobs in research and development – both at universities and in industry – especially in the fields of automotive engineering and automotive mechatronics. In addition to development tasks, you can also work as a project manager or in technical sales, in the higher technical service or in associations, for example as an expert.

At the same time, your degree offers you the opportunity to pursue a doctorate at universities in Germany and abroad. At Frankfurt UAS, you can do your doctorate in cooperation with one of our international partner universities.

Admission and enrollment

Admission requirements are

  • a degree in an electrotechnical, mechatronic or mechanical engineering field of study with a minimum of 210 ECTS credits
