Admission requirements & deadlines at a glance

The course of study is n o t subject to admission restrictions.

1. The Master's degree program is consecutive. Admission to the Master's degree program is only possible for students who

  1. have passed the examination in the bachelor's degree program in Business Law or the examination in the diploma program in Business Law of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with at least the grade "good" (at least 2.50), or
  2. have passed the examination in the accredited bachelor's degree program in Business Law or the examination in the accredited diploma degree program in Business Law at another university at least with the grade "good" (at least 2.50), or
  3. hold a degree from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences or another university, in particular in the fields of law or economics with a standard period of study of at least six semesters, which is at least equivalent to the degrees pursuant to Paragraph 1 Nos. 1 and 2, or
  4. hold a foreign degree at least equivalent to the degrees pursuant to Paragraph 1 Nos. 1 and 2 in the same or related subject as Paragraph 1 Nos. 1 - 3 with a standard period of study of at least six semesters. The Statutes on the Procedure for the Assessment and Admission of Applicants with Foreign Qualifications at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences of February 28, 2005, as amended, shall apply.

2. The professional profile of the degree program according to paragraph 1 must meet the requirements of the Master's degree program "Verhandeln und Gestalten von Verträgen - Negotiating and Designing Contracts". In the cases of paragraph 1 nos. 2 to 4, this requires that the qualification demonstrated by the degree includes knowledge and application skills in the areas listed below:

  1. For degrees pursuant to paragraph 1 no. 2:
    Semester of professional practice or at least six months of professional practice after this degree,
     
  2. For degrees pursuant to paragraph 1 nos. 3 and 4:
    Proven basic knowledge in the areas of: Private Business Law, Labor Law, European Law, Corporate Law, Business Administration, Economics, English as a specialist language, key qualifications and a semester of professional practice or at least six months of professional practice after these degrees or legal traineeship. The legal portion of the degree must amount to at least 50% of the ECTS credits.

    In the cases of paragraph 1 No. 3 and 4, the Examination Committee may link the admission to the condition that the successful completion of modules from the Bachelor's degree program in Business Law in the amount of up to 30 credits must be proven by the time of admission to the Master's thesis. The examination board decides on the selection of the modules.

3. The existence of the prerequisites according to paragraphs 1 and 2 shall be determined by the examination board.

4. If, in the cases of Paragraph 1 Nos. 1 to 4, the previous degree program comprised less than 210 ECTS credits, admission shall be subject to the condition that proof of the successful completion of modules comprising up to 30 ECTS credits must be submitted by the time of admission to the Master's thesis. For this purpose, students can choose from the modules offered in the Bachelor's degree programs at Department 3: Business and Law of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. The examination board decides on the number and selection of modules. The examination board may recognize relevant professional experience (competencies acquired outside of university) to the extent of up to 30 ECTS points (credits). In this regard, the regulations § 22 of the AB Bachelor Master apply.

5. If no admission number is specified for this Master's program, the Examination Committee may grant provisional admission to applicants who have not yet completed their studies in the Bachelor's program at the time of application. For provisional admission, applicants must submit proof of enrollment in the bachelor's degree program as well as detailed certification of the status and expected completion of the bachelor's degree program. The proof of completion of the bachelor's degree program according to Paragraph 1 must be submitted by the end of the enrollment period, otherwise the provisional admission is to be revoked.

Deadlines:

The deadline for receipt of the application for admission for the winter semester is September 30 for applicants with a German degree and July 15 for applicants with an international degree.
